Acceptable use
- Ideas are screened automatically before a build begins.
- A blocked idea returns all your credits.
- Your ideas stay private. Staff read a flagged idea only to review it, and that is logged.
1. What is not allowed
You may not use StartIUP to build any of these seven kinds of thing:
- Malware or hacking tools. Software meant to damage, break into or take over systems or accounts.
- Phishing or fraud. Fake pages, fake messages or anything made to steal details or money.
- Scams or deceptive practices. Pyramid schemes, fake reviews, pump and dump and similar tricks.
- Harassment or targeting of individuals. Tools to follow, expose, scare or pester a person.
- Sexual content involving minors. Never allowed, in any form.
- Weapons or explosives. Instructions or tools to make weapons or explosives.
- Clearly illegal services. Selling illegal drugs, stolen cards, fake documents and similar.
2. Automatic screening
Every idea is screened by an automated check before the build begins. The check reads the idea name and description only. It can allow the idea, block it, or flag it for review.
3. Flagged ideas
A flagged idea keeps building, then waits before the demo is deployed. A person on the StartIUP team may read its name and description to decide whether to allow or block it. Every review is logged. This is the only time a person reads an idea.
4. Blocked ideas
A blocked idea is stopped, and all 69 credits are returned. If an account is used to build things that break this policy, we may block the account from starting new builds. A block never changes the money records already written.
5. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version applies to the next build you start. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
6. Report misuse
To report something, use the contact page and choose "Report misuse".
